Sachi Nagamiya (永宮 幸, Nagamiya Sachi^?) is one of the main characters of the Glasslip series. She is the daughter of Suzune Nagamiya and a third-year high school student who takes a disliking to Kakeru Okikura upon their first meeting because of his involvement with her friend and crush Touko Fukami.

Appearance

Sachi has black shoulder-length hair with one side longer than the other and a single hair hanging in the middle of her forehead. She has violet eyes and is usually seen wearing orange-framed glasses.

Sachi's casual clothing consist of a white short sleeved cardigan, a navy blue collar vest, khaki colored shorts, long black socks that reach over her thighs, and black/blue and white sneakers.

Personality

Sachi has a calm, quiet, and soft-spoken personality and is usually seen reading. She is seen to be cautious around strangers who interact with Touko Fukami, such as Kakeru Okikura, and is easily annoyed when it comes to him. This leads her to be over-protective. She is very blunt about her feelings, despite her quiet demeanor, as she frequently tells Hiro, Yukinari, and Touko her thoughts on Kakeru and themselves. She cherishes the items given to her by Touko, seen as when she receives a glass charm from her in episode 2.

Background

Sachi is a quiet 18 year old girl who lives with her parents in a two story house and is known to have a frail constitution. She is frequently seen going in and out of the hospital for check ups on her condition. She goes to the same school as Touko, Yukinari, and Hiro.

Chronology

Fireworks

Sachi is in her room wearing casual clothes while watching the fireworks go off. The next day, she watches on as Yukinari hands drinks to a table on the other side of the cafe they are hanging out at. Touko brought her back 3D glasses from the festival, and when Yukinari sits down, she tries them on. Hiro gets out his phone and turns on the flash, showing her the sparkling feature the glasses have.

Later at home, she is reading when suddenly she starts staring at a bell that Touko got her and Yanagi so that they could match. She has a flashback to when she got it at the cafe, remembering the little argument Yanagi and Yukinari had. Touko later comes over with a chicken, and Sachi stares at it, wide-eyed. When she is in her room, writing in a notebook, her chicken is sitting quietly on the window seal, falling asleep.

The next day, they are back at the cafe Kazemichi, and Touko and Hiro are talking about doing an activity that Sachi can also do. When the conversation turns to the chickens, she mentions that they didn't lay any eggs. Kakeru appears at their table, suddenly, and while Touko is introducing him with a blush on her face, Sachi glares at him, unnerved. She asks him, "What's with you?" and stands up, still glaring.

Bench

Sachi asks Kakeru how he knew they would be at Kazemichi, to which he replies that the group always hangs out there. She responds, "Yeah, so?", but he ignores her to talk to Touko. When he leaves, Sachi and Yukinari sit back down and Sachi notices the annoyed look on his face. She ignores it to ask Touko if something is bothering her. After Kakeru Okikura tells Tōuko Fukami to meet him at Kirinkan at eleven, Sachi insists that she'll go too, sying he didn't tell her to go alone. When Hiro says they should all go, she says that he isn't very thoughtful.

Sachi is later seen in her room reading.

Sachi stares into a glass piece with wide eyes, calling it pretty, Touko says it is a bit messed up but Sachi says it doesn't look like it. Touko asks her if she'll keep it and Sachi blushes, leaning in and asking, "Really?". Touko says it's for sticking with her today. Sachi presses the glass ball in her hand to her chest and smiles softly with a blush on her face, thanking her. She notices the necklace Touko is wearing and Touko says it's the piece that Sachi made. Sachi asks if this meeting has something to do with the sparkling thing, then Kakeru arrives. Sachi stands up and covers Touko defensively, glaring at him. They greet each other and Sachi tells him her name, glaring harder when he asks if she's here for Touko, He asks what he can do to earn her trust and she says, "Don't come near Touko." When Kakeru starts speaking directly to Touko, Touko asks her if she can talk to him. She hesitates, but then asks if he is going to help Touko, which he says he believes so. Sachi says she will be downstairs, but as she passes Kakeru, she mentions that dating is not allowed in their group while glaring at him. Sachi leaves her and Kakeru to talk.

Sachi is later sitting with Touko outside a shop eating ice cream when she says that she doesn't think he's a bad person, but she can't seem to like him. She asks if he pulled anything weird and Touko says no, to which she replies, "Okay, then. If anyone ever caused you grief, I would never forgive them." She takes a bite out of her ice cream.

Later at home, Sachi is staring into the glass ball and smiling, then frowns and sits up from the floor.

At the cafe the next day, Hiro Shirosaki asks Sachi how Kakeru was. Sachi says that he wasn't any different from yesterday and that she believes that they were just talking. She tells them that she left the room and Yukinari freaks out. Touko comes, and while Hiro is giving announcements, she says that the group is open to dating. Sachi looks at her with furrowing eyebrows, then she drinks from her teacup, more quiet than the others.

Utility Tank

The group goes on the hiking trip trail. Sachi appears behind Hiro, talking to Touko and asking if she slept alright. As Yukinari comes up with Yanagi, Touko blushes and Sachi notices it instantly. She quickly looks at Yukinari, then smiles politely when Yanagi greets her.

Sachi is taking the car uphill with Momo Shirosaki, due to her poor health. Momo asks her if she can call her Sacchan and tells her that she's seen her around. She notices her glass piece, the one Touko gave her, and compliments it, and Sachi says it's a gift. Momo asks if it's from a boyfriend, and Sachi says "No, but it's from someone I love." and smiles. Momo mentions that her brother is a good guy and is insecure, to which Sachi agrees.

She then meets the rest of the group when they reach the end of the hiking trail, waving along with Momo. Hiro asks if she was okay and Sachi says she had fun. Touko is confused about her saying she had fun, so Sachi clarifies that though she's never been on one, she imagines that it's what roller coasters are like. As Momo takes off, she smiles warmly.

When Sachi and the group are overlooking the mountains, Touko moves next to her to get away from Yukinari. Hiro and Sachi are talking but Sachi immediately notices Touko's reaction.

When Touko is about to get water for their campsite, Sachi says she'll go with, but Hiro says she shouldn't, and Yanagi agrees. She goes instead. After Touko Fukami and Yanagi Takayama leave to get water, Hiro tells Sachi to sit while he sets up. Yukinari Imi wishes Hiro "good luck", implying that he knows about Hiro's crush on Sachi. Hiro asks if she likes yakisoba and upon getting a yes, cooks for Sachi, mumbling that he thinks Sachi is "beautiful, like a doll" and he loves that she loves reading. Sachi mistakes his mumbling as a poem and says it's pretty, in which Hiro agrees. While cooking, Hiro burns his hand after accidentally touching Sachi's hand when she hands him the noodles. She asks if he's ok and mumbles "water" while looking around. Yukinari hears and she says it's for Hiro.

When the girls as well as Imi return, they all eat food together, and Sachi gives a fork full of her food to Touko as a "token", right after Yanagi's token of friendship. They all giggle together.

Later, Sachi is reading by herself again when Hiro comes up to her. She asks if his hand is okay and he says it's not burnt or anything. She gets out a book and hands it to him as a gift for taking care of her. He looks at her, about to say something, but stops, and she says that he can read it now if he wants, while smiling politely. Hiro stutters over himself, then tells her he likes her name. She frowns, then looks at him in realization.

Afterwards, Sachi is in the car when Touko comes up to her window, asking if she's getting a ride home. Sachi confirms and says thanks for everything. Touko then has a vision of Sachi sitting in a hospital in a hospital gown, back facing a window. She asks her if she's doing okay just as Momo takes Sachi home.

Sachi later texts Touko to once again say thanks for everything, and to say that she'll contact her later. She says she's home when she gets to her house, with a backdrop of the sunset and her house in view.

Steep Road

Sachi calls Touko Fukami at the start of the episode. Touko remembers her vision of Sachi being in the hospital and answers quickly. She asks how Sachi is doing. Sachi says her legs are fine, but gets interrupted before she can finish. Touko guesses that she's in the hospital and Sachi agrees, but instead then reveals that Yanagi Takayama hurt her leg during her lessons and that Sachi learned this from Yukinari Imi.

Sachi later ends a phone call with Yanagi, who says she'll talk to her later. She hangs up the phone and looks down at the book next to her. She picks it up and starts reading it, but soon hears someone riding up on their bike calling for her outside. She opens the door to Hiro. He says morning and that he is there to return the book she gave him. She smiles politely, asking if he's read it already. He stutters out a yeah and says it was good. When he goes into detail, she interrupts, asking if he wants to come in. He reacts with surprise.

Sachi brings drinks into her room where Hiro is sitting by her desk on the floor. He watches her set everything down, patient and blushing.

Sachi and Hiro are later seen reading separately in her room. She is sitting by the window and he in front of her desk. He looks at her, she notices, then he quickly turns back to the book, blushing. After a few seconds pass, he peeks at her again while she is reading. He turns back to his book again, then checks his phone, sees that a movie has been made, and shows it to Sachi. He asks if she wants to go see it and she says sure, her face blank. He says he'll check the times, then asks if she's free the day after tomorrow. She smiles a bit and says sure. He tries to stand but trips, saying "pins and needles".

The day of, Sachi is seen paying close attention to the movie while Hiro is beside her, asleep and snoring.

Hinode Bridge

Sachi is once again reading in her room with Hiro Shirosaki, sitting on the window sill, when Touko Fukami arrives. Sachi tells that she's here to Hiro, who asks if she was supposed to be there today, to which Sachi nods and says yeah. She calls to Touko through the window and says she will be right there. Sachi gets up and walks to the door, then looks at Hiro and smiles. She leaves, and meets her at the door, telling her to come in. Touko and Sachi are then seen coming into Sachi's room after Hiro leaves via the window. They stand there and Touko asks what's wrong, to which Sachi replies "Nothing, Come in." As Hiro goes in through the front door to get his shoes, Sachi covers for him by saying she thinks it is her mom, and that there's no hurry for Touko to go greet her.

As Sachi is setting her table, Touko mentions that Hiro had a date today and that she thought he'd be here with her, even though she was supposed to come over today. She has an upset look on her face. Touko asks if Sachi and Hiro are dating, and Sachi replies that he was there until earlier, which makes Touko scream and back up in surprise. She says that there has been so many surprises today and that she didn't think they'd be going out. Sachi says she has it wrong, and that she never said she was going out with him. She was not, they were just reading together. Sachi then asks if Touko had met with 'that guy' since then. Touko replies that although Kakeru seems stern, she thinks that there might be a nice side to him. Sachi is smiling softly, but looks away, mentioning that he's cute. Touko freaks out and says it isn't like that, nothing like that. Sachi has a slightly different smile now, as she picks up her drink and sips from it. Sachi then tells Touko that she has to be hospitalized for a while, but that Touko didn't have to worry since they were just running tests. She tells her there is somewhere she wants to go with her when she is discharged. When Touko asks where, she says she can not tell her yet.

Etymology

• The name Sachi means "happiness, good luck" (幸).
• Sachi's surname Nagamiya means "eternal" (永) (naga) and "temple, shrine, palace" (宮) (miya).
